How to make an animated map video
Plan your places, camera movement, and labels before exporting your first map animation.
1. Start with one idea
Choose what the viewer should learn: where a journey went, how places connect, or which region matters. A short sequence with a clear subject is easier to follow than a map showing everything at once.
2. Build your scene sequence
Choose your first place, add the next destinations, and arrange their order. Select a transition between each stop. Preview the generated scenes, then adjust the camera keyframes where the view needs more context.
3. Use a clear visual hierarchy
Give the important place a fill or outline. Keep names short and use text for information the map cannot communicate on its own. Add objects only when they help explain the story.
4. Give the viewer time to read
Hold the camera when a name or explanation appears. Play the whole sequence to check that labels remain readable during camera movement. Shorten transitions that distract from the subject.
5. Check the finished export
Choose your output format before you finish framing. Preview quality may be reduced while editing; inspect the exported video for the final image quality and timing.
